3.0 out of 5 stars Worst Laptop I’ve Ever Owned
It started out-of-the-box great, but, as I transferred more of the propgrams that I had on my older laptop, the slower this one got. Then I deleted OneDrive and Microsoft 365. And now, the machine acts like it aged 50 years in a day. Been working on computers since 1976, pretty handy with them, kept up to speed (I do PC work for my neighbors). Luckily, I make enough that I could count this as a loss. Even my old MacBook is faster than this thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great student laptop
I’ve purchased two of these now. Great for students, and I have an extra one in the office. Durable, size is perfect. Looks great, decent screen quality. Connects easily to the internet and had a few updates and was ready to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Computer for a simple job.
This Lenovo was on sale for less than some of the others. I needed an inexpensive laptop as a security camera monitor. I struggled with a problem that has nothing to do with Lenovo and everything to do with software that ONLY runs on Internet Explorer, and took me 2 days to get it running under Edge’s Internet Explorer simulator. I knew it could because I can do it on my personal Surface Go. But it’s running! This is my first time with Win 11 and so far, I find it far more difficult to use than Win 10 or even Win 7. It doesn’t let you run CMD.EXE unless you exit S mode (which I did). Again, not the Lenovo’s fault. Microsoft wants everyone to move from Office to Office 365, which requires a subscription and basically gives them access to what you’re doing. I uninstalled it.Pros: Inexpensive, Light, Straight-forward, and the screen is big enough I don’t need an external monitor anymore, nor a base station. I still have more to set up (access to the home NAS, wired ethernet rather than WiFi, and upgrading from Windows Defender to Trend Micro.)Cons: Worst touchpad I’ve ever used. Not crazy about touchpads. The early ones had separate R&L buttons, this has the right in a tiny lower corner.Keyboard’s so far back from the edge of the machine that it’s difficult to use.Shockingly, there is no facial recognition capability. The camera just cannot do it.Those are my sole complaints. The laptop it replaces cannot run Win 10 and is stuck in Win 7. Edge cannot be installed on Win 7 and as Internet Explorer is not supported, and the security under Win 7 is inferior to Win 10 and 11, it was time to upgrade. So far, so good!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great laptop, great value
I ordered this to play some games and have a normal keypad to type with when writing emails and charts. It was a great deal for the price, has everything I need in a laptop for pleasure, not business. Easy setup, excellent sound and great refresh rating for gaming. I am really pleased with this laptop and highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nicer Than Expected
So Hubby has needed a laptop for a good minute. We usually buy his refurbished bc he doesn’t use a computer as much as I do. A #TB hard drive and top-shelf or even mid-level graphics card would be wasted on him, but he does need a laptop to access work files from home and general computer tomfoolery. So his last system was a refurb/open box Lenovo Ideapad, 4g RAM, and 1T hard drive. We got it from BestBuy Outlet a few years ago. It was so nice I told my sister about it and she got the same one.Fast forward to last December and the age was showing. I think the manufacture date is 2019, and it’s showing the age. I was using it for work (WFH) bc he didn’t need it. But then he DID need it so I had to go to a backup until he got me a desktop (see review). The BB Lenovo was slow, so very slow it was like Chinese water torture. Booting it up took time, yeah, 2-5 minutes depending on its mood. I’m not talking from shutdown. I mean from sleep/hibernation to lock screen to desktop. Painfully slow, so we needed to upgrade him. We couldn’t shell out a lot of money for it, though, so I went shopping. This system has good storage for him. He doesn’t take enough pix or do enough browsing to need more than 512G so the extra 128G is just gravy. The 12G RAM is a major step up and he’s no longer grumbling about how slow his computer is.Yay.I’m a little jelly. This thing is sleek. At this price, we could afford to grab another. I just got a gamer desktop, though (see review!) so it’s not practical.Pros: See abovePlus: That card slot is a good thing since it doesn’t have a CD/DVD tray at all (see pic). The camera cover/lock is NICE (see pic). I always tape a little paper over webcams but there’s no need with this. One of the USB ports is a USB-C (see pic), which is nice since things seem to be moving that way.I thought I was settling for the 15.6″ screen but it’s not as small as I thought it would be. My desktop system monitors are 22 and 24 inches respectively and my last laptop was 17″, so 15″ feels small to me until I actually see it.As stated: Hubby doesn’t care. This laptop is the same size as his old one and even the same manufacturer, so yeah. He’s good.Cons:No disc tray. Anything he needs to physically add has to be on an SD card, thumb drive, or downloaded. Please note: Hubby doesn’t care. For my geeky/gamer heart, it’s not nearly enough HD space, but for Hubby it’s perfect. The preinstalled bloatware insists on being used even when you uninstall it, but isn’t it always?Minimal ports. I need way more USB ports and no ethernet is a deal breaker for me.Caveat: This laptop isn’t for me, since I have a gaming/work desktop system. Hubby doesn’t care about this at all, so it’s just a “that would be nice” thing.Anyway, I like this machine a lot. It’s light and clean and a fantastic value for the price. I think it will serve Hubby well.9/10 would recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective, will not refund, Lenovo says not their client, no
Bought at Amazon.Laptop is not for me, is dysfunctional, appears defective, battery never says 100% charged.Online, my research says that they have issues with the battery on that laptop……I want to return.Amazon gave me a wrong Lenovo phone number.Lenovo says I bought at Amazon, therefore I am NOT a Lenovo customer.I told Amazon I want to return and buy something that works. Now, the Amazon Supervisor said she’d provide a label within 24-48 hours and fully refund.Thank God I waited to buy the next laptop, because no label or refund ever came.Still have to argue and waste time on the phone with Amazon.I’d NEVER buy Lenovo ever again…………….How does one do business with Amazon if this is their behavior?CUSTOMER comes first. INTEGRITY, ETHIC, SATISFACTION.The customer is always right.A customer should never need to argue left and right, and be passed around like a pin-pong ball……..Very dissatisfied customer.

I don’t do gaming so this computer works great. I can use my Cricut and do my studies all in this with out an issue. It’s not going to be the quickest computer, but, for the price I can’t complain. It’s light weight and easy for travel. It connects to my hot spot/Bluetooth nicely no issues.

4.0 out of 5 stars Honest Review
Thus far I am really liking this laptop. Although while setting it up it showed the warranty as only having 4 months left but after contacting that was straighten quickly. The only other thing is battery life. It seems to go by quickly. I also don’t like the fact it comes in S mode but does come with instruction of how to take it out. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and wanted to share some of the issues I had but all were fixable except battery life. I guess that could be fixed also if I stayed off my laptop some.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Impressed
This was definitely a change from my previous laptop. The screen is bigger, and it works – those are really the only good points about this Lenovo. Oh, and I do appreciate that the keyboard is high-contrast (white letters on black background, as opposed to gold letters on a gray background like other companies are doing). I also appreciate having the number pad to the right of the keyboard.Thoughts:-I don’t like that the case feels like cheap plastic – I feel like I have to be exceedingly gentle with it so it won’t break. I’d rather have the metal case to help with heat transfer and also for durability.-The case is also made from a material that oils stick to. I just notice that the outside seems to retain the natural oils from my hands (despite my hands being clean/recently washed).-The screen of this laptop is direction-dependent, so I get different quality images when I tilt it up or down; I think the best light comes when you’re looking “up”ish at it, so tilting the screen slightly away from you improves the color & contrast, as far as I can tell.-“S-mode” was quite infuriating to remove. I looked up how to remove it and followed directions, but it told me to click on buttons that didn’t exist and eventually took me to the app store where it said that the app I was looking for didn’t exist. Ultimately, I had to let it install updates and reboot a bunch of times (maybe 10x?), including a few reboots where it didn’t update at all – I was just shutting it down for the night, before it successfully let me remove S-mode.-The hard drive is partitioned into different segments. This is normal these days, but when I tried to copy my files into the standard folders (Documents, Music, etc) I kept getting errors saying that there was not enough disk space. Essentially 90% of the hard drive space is under “D: New Volume” instead of the “C: Windows” drive. This is annoying because the default Save/Open/Etc spot is the C drive but I don’t want some of my files stored there and others on the D drive.-I never realized how often I type in the dark, but now I really, really wish that this laptop came with a backlit keyboard!-Despite being new/wiped clean, the boot-up process for this laptop should be significantly shorter than it is.

My wife has a Lenova and it works great; mine seems to have problems w/small font and sticky keys that don’t often put anything on the screen….very annoying esp since its only a few months old. Otherwise, it works great and is lightweight for carrying on the Amtrak or other places I often go….

5.0 out of 5 stars Student helper
We bought this for a 1st year college student – my wife’s youngest sister who was starting University this year. Purchased in the summer and my wife loaded it, used it etc, and found it to be excellent. If you went back in time, this model would probably outdo dozens of major international machines. My wife liked it so much I keep waiting for the price to drop on it to get her a model.

2.0 out of 5 stars Either the computer or the seller is garbage
This is the slowest computer I have ever owned. Or rather, even though its specs are higher than computers I have used before, it is slower to perform requested tasks (even the very most basic tasks) than any other computer I have ever used. It can barely browse the internet. Its load speeds are WAY to slow. It can’t stream video, despite my using a high speed internet connection (download speeds > 300Mbps). I would like to think that there is simply something wrong with this particular computer build. That is, I would like to think that the specs are fine; there is just something wrong with my particular computer. Unfortunately, in my extensive back-and-forth communication with the seller, the seller insists that there is nothing wrong with the computer, that it works precisely as it should. I think that largely just means that the seller doesn’t care to consider the prospect that something went wrong with one of their computer builds. So this leaves two possibilities: 1) either the computer is trash, working exactly as the seller intended, or 2) the seller is trash and is unwilling to take responsibility for a bad build.UPDATE: Amazon permitted me to return this computer to the seller despite the seller’s unwillingness to accept responsibility for it. Amazon warned me that the seller could charge a restocking fee of 15-20%. Instead, the seller charged a restocking fee of a full 50%. CAVEAT EMPTOR (“buyer beware”).

3.0 out of 5 stars Windows product
I was asked to review before I even received it. Shipped late. Windows product seems lethargic for simple tasks. Took 2 days to even set up outlook. Paired with android phone but removed connection once I noticed unusual activity on my windows account. Hardware is nice but OS just is mediocre. Not returning this but Ill look for a refurbished mac in the near future. Meanwhile back to the ipad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Returned – updated
The Lenova laptop worked for about a week. I spent a lot of time setting it up for my wife’s use. After completion of set up, I gave it to her. She used it just a couple days and then it would not start up at all. Pressing the power button did nothing. No lights. No boot-up. Just nothing. Called Lenovo warranty service. They had me try a couple things. Nothing worked. They agreed to service it upon my return to them. Said it would take about 3 weeks including shipping time both ways. I chose the alternative of returning it to Amazon. I then ordered another laptop and received it in 3 days. The Lenovo was returned today via UPS. I am awaiting credit. Will update this if any issues. (04/12/2024)UPDATE: 04/18/2024 Refund issued in full. Very satisfied with return transaction. Lenovo seems to be a good brand and is highly regarded as a very good entry level unit. It was unfortunate that I had an issue, but would consider them again in the future.

I love this laptop. It’s not too small and not too big. Fits nicely on my desk, came with a free year subscription of Microsoft and it was easy to set up. Highly recommend for the price!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Deal
Great value for money. Fast and very light weight. Wish the hard drive was bigger but if you have an external hard drive, won’t make a lot of difference.

4.0 out of 5 stars They installed the OS on the wrong drive
I was unable to install more than one or two apps before it was telling me I was out of space. Turns out that the OS was installed on the 128GB drive instead of the 512GB drive. I had to use Macrium Reflect to migrate it to the other drive, and then purchase another app to adjust the partitions. Altogether a pain in the butt, however, I was in the middle of setting it up for use, so I didn’t want to wait for a replacement. I did see one other reviewer had the same issue. Once things were corrected, it seems like an ok laptop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal at this price point
Needed a new laptop and after doing some research, I found that Lenovo has somevery decent reviews so I decided to them it a try. Have only had it for two daysbut so far no complaints. Much better deal than I could have received purchasing one of the morewidely know names which were selling at the same price. For my to have gone with one of theother more popular brands with 12gb of ram, 500+ gb SDD drive, mini SD card reader and 3 USB ports, the price would have been much higher.Build quality looks excellent as is the response of the keyboard. One note though which is in no way a minus for Lenovo, even though the description says it ships with Win 11 Home, it actually has Win 11 home in S mode. Not a big deal but just wanted to mention it. Only took a few minutes to set it to nonS mode but this should be noted on the listing. One other point for those who like to connect their systems via ethernet cable, this unit, much like othersat this price point, does not have an ethernet port so, I purchased Anker ethernet to USB adapters from Amazon and they work great. Will update if it has hiccups long term but, so far, I would have zero problems recommending Lenovoto others.

3.0 out of 5 stars Product great Amazon really bad
I like the product. The problem is Amazon was using an expired default and told. I deleted it and changed but it was one thing after another with the entire order. There doesn’t seem to be any way to talk, TXT with a real person to get it straighten out. One thing still hasn’t been resolved and I need it for a wedding present with a rapidly approaching wedding. I’m really frustrated But yes the laptop is fine. Tablets (of which I have too) are just not as convenient as a self contained laptop.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very slow, 2021 model, do NOT purchase
This replaces an old HP laptop that died, which was very slow. This new Lenovo is even slower. On top of that the 2nd SSD drive just up and disappeared after 2 weeks. I had all my personal data on it. I then did a factory reset. When it came back online, D-drive was still missing.I contacted customer support. They were very friendly and tried to assist me. We couldn’t get the 2nd drive to reappear. Still under warranty they suggested I either send it back to them or take it to local service for repair. I decided not to do that because I didn’t want my personal data out in public. I decided to bear the loss and just use the first drive. I can use a large flash drive for my second drive for my personal data. FYI, I do have a couple of backups of my personal data.A couple of days later my new drive suddenly reappeared with data intact. But that only lasted 2 days before disappearing again. I should have removed my personal data but didn’t think it was going away again.Added note – Since purchasing, the battery has only registered 75%. It has not reached 100% yet. Since this is a 2021 model, I’m sure the battery has discharged some. Also not happy with the display. The coloring appears washed and not crisp. Thanks, Lenovo, for the great customer service, but I believe this laptop is a total lemon, so only 2 stars.Edit: 5/17/24Changing it to 1 star. Battery only lasted 90 minutes after being unplugged. And I say again, it is agonizingly slow. My cheap 14-inch I bought from Walmart years ago is still much faster, and the battery still holds a longer charge. NOT recommending purchasing this. Also not returning this to the vendor, which is not Amazon, because of the 30% restocking fee plus other 20-50% fees for misc.

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s Okay
This is a lot slower than my old Lenovo. I deleted the graphics driver and rebooted, that helped some. I miss my light up keyboard and touchscreen from my old computer too, but I was saving money and knew I wasn’t getting those things this time. It’s a Lenovo, so it is a solid machine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Ok
Great low end computer for normal tasks, but the display is awful. If you don’t tilt the screen to the perfect viewing angle, you can barely see it.
